David Kennedy is the founder of TrustedSec and a co-founder of Binary Defense Systems (BDS). These sister companies are both active in the information security field. TrustedSec, LCC provides security consulting and security assessments. The company is located in Strongsville, Ohio. BSD provides managed security services and is located in Hudson, Ohio. Prior to TrustedSec and BDS, David was the Chief Security Officer (CSO) for Diebold Incorporated.
David had a long history in penetration testing and co-authored the book "Metasploit: The Penetration Testers Guide". He is one of the members that founded the Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES). This standard provides guidelines and methodologies to do pentesting. With his work on The Social-Engineer Toolkit (SET), he also contributes to a popular tool in the field.
David is also an active participant in security conferences. He is the founder of DerbyCon, a security conference in Louisville Kentucky.
